More than the wine is thriving in Soledad, California; the sunny state also offers first-class conditions for generating natural energy.
GP JOULE erected a 433.5 kW solar park there and the generated power is used to operate water pumps for irrigating the vineyard, making this the first net metering project of its size.
The plant is located on the premises of the winemaking family Smith in the middle of Paraiso Vineyards. The family enjoys more than good wine; it also tries to handle the land and the soil carefully and responsibly.
That’s why the solar park is intended to help cover the energy needs of production, so that oenological enjoyment and ecological awareness go hand-in-hand.
We say: to the future!
