CONNECT takes off

GP JOULE has always been a pioneer when it comes to developing smart solutions for the energy turnaround. The North Frisian company’s next coup: the new business segment called CONNECT. CONNECT intelligently uses power generated from renewable energies for climate-friendly mobility applications. GP JOULE offers commercial enterprises, companies, local communities and farmers attractively priced electricity tariffs consisting of 100 % renewable energy and realises e-mobility infrastructure projects.

CONNECT finally makes it possible to deliver power for the region in a short time. Commercial enterprises receive the full e-mobility package from a single source. CONNECT takes care of everything from consulting to installing the charging stations and managing the charging points and drivers. In this way the complex topic of charging infrastructure is taken care of in a customer-friendly manner.

At the official launch of CONNECT on 1 October 2016, GP JOULE is bringing together an exclusive circle of early adopters on the island of Sylt: Among others there will be windsurf legend and GP JOULE testimonial Robby Naish, Matthias Neumann, windsurf worldcup organiser and Jan Scharfe, managing director of the Beachhouse Sylt.

They all have one thing in common: they are the trailblazers of a true energy turnaround and are already exploiting the benefits of renewable energies in a variety of ways: thanks to a PV system installed by GP JOULE on his estate on Maui, Hawaii, Robby Naish is independent of the central and fossil energy supply. Companies, above all on the island of Sylt, are cooperating closely with GP JOULE:  The Beachhouse restaurant is a CONNECT pilot partner – at the launch event, visitors can experience at first hand the Beachhouse’s e-vehicles, the PV plant with storage system as well as the charging infrastructure operated by GP JOULE. In cooperation with the Sylt tourism service, GP JOULE turns the energy turnaround into something that visitors can really experience for themselves. Holidaymakers can explore the island on the GP JOULE e-bikes and a tank full of sun with no emissions whatsoever. The e-bikes are available for renting from the Sylt tourism service. GP JOULE is supporting the windsurf world cup for the fourth time already as a partner. GP JOULE has already been a renewable energies sponsoring partner for the biggest windsurf event worldwide since 2013. The aim is to make the event more and more climate neutral year by year.

Ove Petersen, managing director of GP JOULE is eagerly looking forward to the launch: “CONNECT turns the energy turnaround into something tangible everybody can experience. With CONNECT you can use renewable energies everywhere and at any time plus travel with zero emissions. It’s simple, inexpensive and safe”.

Visitors can see the GP JOULE technologies live in an overseas container transformed into a showroom on the World Cup Promenade. Here you can experience how renewable energies are generated and in how many ways they can be used. The miniJOULE plug & play solar plant generates power from sunlight directly on site. A display in the showroom shows how much electricity is being generated and consumed. The solar energy generated in this way is used for example in the GP JOULE e-bikes on display. The GP JOULE charging solutions in the form of charging stations and wallboxes are also presented in the showroom.
