For consumers as understood by the German Civil Code in § 13 BGB the following applies: to resolve disputes under § 111 a EnWG (the law regulating the German energy industry), applications for a dispute resolution process can be made to the energy dispute resolution board. The requirement for this is that you have contacted GP JOULE Connect without a mutually satisfactory solution to the dispute having been found. GP JOULE Connect is obliged to participate in dispute resolution processes organised by the energy dispute resolution board.

Consumers have the option of getting free assistance via the European Union’s online dispute resolution (ODR) platform for the submission of a consumer complaint. This platform serves as a starting point for out-of-court settlements of disputes which arise from obligations out of an online purchase contract or a contract for online services.
